After 13.5 years I've moved on to Rainbow Bridge.
MEMBER SINCE: MAR 19, 2009
HOME: Philadelphia, PA, United States
KIND: Dog
BREED: German Shepherd
SEX: Male
AGE: 13 Years, 9 Months
PERSONAL SITE:
VET: Dr. Ellis Rubin
ROOMMATES: Wulf
PET OF THE DAY: Dec 9, 2010
ABOUT Rolf:
Rolf’s kennel name is Kedalion vom Hohlen Hügel. That’s quite a mouthful, so I just call him Rolf. He was born in Clarks Summit, Pennsylvania. You take the Northeast Extension of the Pennsylvania Turnpike and when you come to the end of the Turnpike, you’re in Clarks Summit. It’s a long way from Philadelphia to Clarks Summit. His right ear is green from the excess ink from a tattoo. His kennel, Hollow Hills, tattooed his registration number in his ear.
The only way I could take a picture of him on his first day was to let him bit my hand. Otherwise, he wouldn’t stay still long enough for me to take a picture. As a puppy, he bit everything that moved. My co-workers thought I owned a cat because my arms were so scratched from him biting me. Thank God he doesn’t do that anymore. At his size, I’d lose my arm.
Rolf is protective of his family and very affectionate. As you can see from the photos at left he has gone from a very cute puppy to an extremely handsome adult. At least he is in my unbiased opinion. When I look at him now, I can still see that little puppy whose picture I took at the top of the basement steps. I’ve taken so many pictures of him, he runs when he sees me approaching with the camera, so I have to sneak up on him now to take a picture.
