I am truly blessed to have Austen in my life. I walked into one of those dreaded pet stores and was looking at all the sad puppies, Austen caught my attention. He was playing with a toy and throwing it around. He came right up to the Plexiglass and tried to lick my finger, just to say ”Hey Take Me Home”. I left that day in tears seeing those dogs and how hot it was in the store, let alone how they must have felt in those Plexiglass cages.
I could not get Austen off my mind. So I went back and before I walked in I said to myself if he was still there I was going to adopt him. By the grace of God, he was.
Off course I took him to the vet asap, and corrected some issues he had and he has been the love of my life since.
He always knows when I need a little affection. Just the way he turns his head when I ask him if he wants to go for a ride. I swear he knows exactly what I am saying to him.
He loves going to work with me and creating havoc by sneaking into the trash cans to tear up some paper.
I just have to look at him and he makes me smile. : )

Austin....you still in love with me??? In picture # 15 you look a LOT like my little big 'sister' Cahlie pronounced Cal ee ? She weighs 13.2 and I'm only a very petite dainty with little feet 10.6.....and I'm not wirehaired all over like my mom...just a few extra curls to make me even cuter....but I do have a "beard" ugh!!!....Cahlie is a long haired doxie but she is not going to have the long hair all over....she is just a year so who knows....her ears are like yours Austin....Angel...

Austen, have you ever read the Bunnicula books? About the 2nd one in, the family adopts a dog named Howie, who is a cute little dachshund. My humans love reading about him. We love your fluffy ears!
