Hi! I'm Charlie...

and I just love ALL pets and people!! I surprise many people, because they expect me to be yappy or un-friendly, because I am a small dog... but that's not ME, at all! I want to meet and greet everybody on the street... I am a Lil LOVE BUG!!

I've become quite popular amongst the Humans, in my neighborhood and extended family, because I am sucha sweetie! I even love babies and small children and can be trusted around them. I get a lil bummed when other dogs just bark at me, when I am out walking and won't befriend me, but that's life... and I go on my merry way.

I just celebrated my 1st year in my new home, as I was adopted in April 2008. And my 4th bday. My PAST is a lil shady... the people who gave me up, SAY I am a Full Bred Rat Terrier, but never followed up on giving my new owner my " papers". In fact, they sent a picture of a dog to her, that wasn't even ME!! IMAGINE her surprise, when she saw ME! It did not matter, nothing was even said... she just wanted to rescue a dog that needed a home! The weekend I was to be adopted , they claimed I was kidnapped and it took a few weeks before I was safely here away from the NUT JOBS. My name WAS Chance, but I didn't even KNOW it... and thank God for 2nd chances. My new owner called me Charlie Chance, LOL, for a few days... and now I just respond to Charlie, and took to that easily. I have no recollection or response to being Chance.

I love my New life, and am very spoiled! The BARREN crate I came with, is my HAVEN, I get into when my owner works.... it has a BIG Stuffed BED in it, and pillows and blankets, B/C I LOVE to be all SNUGGLY!! I get in there, on my own, after our daily walks, and send her off to make some money for my kibble. SOMEBODY has to work around here, and it ain't gonna be ME!! At night, I sleep with her, under my own afghan, totally burrowed. I love to be under the covers, year-round! Sometimes, after a nite of partying and socializing, I can stay under the covers for like 24 hrs! I like to party, but it tires me out! I love to sit on people's laps and offer up my cheeks for kisses, and be HUGGED! And I can LEAP straight UP 5 feet into anybody's arms, that's standing. Sometimes that's a lil startling, but if they don't catch me, I'll just try again. I usually ONLY do that, if ASKED.

"They SAY" that Rat Terriers were bred for catching rats and mice... but if I ever saw one, I'd probably just CRY that it ran away, and would not be my friend. IF I could catch one, I'd just KEEP him and it'd be my new Best friend!
