Boxer Cleverly Disguises Herself As Pink Dalmatian To Get Adopted

By Renee Colvert

Sometimes it can be difficult to spin a crummy situation into a positive, but Asia — a boxer who's temporary skin condition makes her look like a pink Dalmatian — came through with flying colors... specifically with pink with black polka dot colors.

Asia was dropped off with another boxer buddy at Animal Friends of the Valleys shelter in Wildomar, California. At first glance, it appeared the shelter had received a boxer and a pink Dalmatian. The two were found in the shelter's anonymous drop-off kennel, and while sometimes people leave information about the dogs, this time the pups history and names were a mystery.

Both dogs suffer from a treatable skin condition called demodex mange and were shy initially. But the good folks taking care of them were quick to treat their ailments and give them food, and the pups quickly warmed up and became playful.

Asia and Artie's story continued to improve when the rescue, Last Chance at Life, picked them up from the shelter and pledged to find them both loving new homes. Both dogs are sweethearts and are great at sharing the spotlight, here's Artie's close up with Asia chilling in the background.

These rescued buddies are continuing to respond well to treatment and have a sunny disposition that things are going to be okay. As of this release, the Asia and Artie are officially up for adoption, but we suspect their status will change to "adopted" in no time!
