This is Rhino Lightning.
The Humane Society of Utah received Rhino along with a handwritten note by a kid who wrote with true heartbreak.
"He was my puppy. [I] really hope he is in a good [environment]. I really miss him," the child wrote about their beloved pup.
Rhino's previous owners adopted him 6 months prior, but with little children around, Rhino was just too energetic and would knock them down when he got too excited. The shelter had never seen such intentional and direct instructions from previous owners before and only cemented the notion that Rhino was so deeply loved.
The note went on to say, "Rhino needs lots of attention. He loves people."
The child described Rhino's likes (sleeping under blankets and cuddles) and dislikes (being teased with treats, water, and snow).
Lastly, the child was very direct about the future of Rhino's name once he was adopted by a new family.
"His full name is Rhino Lightning, then your last name. Please don't rename him," the child politely advised.
While this heartfelt note will make even the hardest of hearts soften, there is light at the end of this tunnel: Rhino Lightning has been adopted into a new loving home!
