Not all heroes wear capes — but some definitely rock spandex.
That, at least, is the takeaway from a story this week in which a Brazilian cyclist out for a spin stumbled across a tiny kitten mewing on the side of the road.
The man, Viitor Fonseca, realized he couldn't just leave the helpless cat to fend for itself, but he also didn't have a way to carry the adorable mouser.
But where there's a will, there's a way: He tucked the smol little kitty inside his jersey and pedaled 6.2 miles back to his home in Taquarituba, a town of about 24,000 people located 200 miles west of São Paulo.
And even more surprisingly, the curious tabby loved every moment of it, rewarding his rescuer with kitty kisses and facebutts.
After returning safely with his furry friend, Fonseca shared the magic moment on Facebook, where the touching post — captioned "saving a life today ... I'm glad that he liked me and was not clawing me" (LOL!) — quickly went wide.
The video, embedded below, is even more aww-inducing (those squeaks!).
Bringing everything full circle, LoveMeow is reporting that the kitten has since been placed with a new forever home, which is truly a wonderful epilogue. Kudos to Fonseca for his quick-thinking here!
