This Police Pup Is Fired For The Most Adorable Reason

By Ryan Tronier

If you've worked long enough, you've probably had the humiliating experience of being fired. It sucks, SO MUCH. And it's even worse when you know that you kind of deserved it.

But this police pup who recently lost his job has zero reasons to be upset about being fired. Because, according to his boss, the Governor of Queensland, Australia, this German shepherd named Gavel was fired for being so dang cute and cuddly.

"He may have missed out on becoming a Queensland police service dog, but it is abundantly clear that Gavel has the characteristics necessary to adequately fulfill duties as Queensland's official vice-regal dog, Governor Paul de Jersey said in a recent statement.

If you're not sure what a vice-regal dog is, you're not alone. We had to Google to find out details. Apparently, this cuddly cutie will be greeting guest and tour groups on the grounds of Queensland's Government House, according to the BBC.

But it's okay, Gavel. Not every dog is ready to take a bite out of crime.
