This NFL Player's Puppy Was Kidnapped & You Won't Believe The Details

By Sarah Jeanne Terry

As pet owners, one of our biggest fears is that our beloved animals might go missing. We worry that they'll run away, get lost, or wander off.

However, it's worse when you have to worry that someone might kidnap and ransom your furry friend. But that's what happened to NFL Wide Receiver, Lucky Whitehead. Lucky came home from a vacation to find that his puppy was missing. The professional football player, who plays for the Dallas Cowboys, took to Instagram for help recovering his beloved pup.

Lucky reported that some maniac kidnapped his dog and demanded a ransom.

Aww, just look at that adorable super-dog! And this big, strong football player turns into a total pile of mush as he talks about his beloved dog. Here's what he wrote:

"I've taken some time to collect my thoughts on this subject matter, and it's very heartbreaking to say that Blitz has been stolen from my home last Sunday. While out of town, Blitz was being taken care of by a close friend at my house and someone broke in and took him. Whomever stole Blitz has contacted my phone numerous times, demanding ransom money. I strongly advise you to stop and return my boy safely before it gets any worse! If you know of any details regarding Blitz's whereabouts or who may be involved in this, please contact me immediately. πŸ’” #repost"

We can't believe someone would put an animal's life at risk to make money off of a celebrity.

And what makes this story even more heart-wrenching is the fact that Blitz was a young pup.

Lucky only just brought home Blitz in May, so the pup has only had a short couple of months to get used to his home β€” and his new person.

Seriously, these two are SO adorable together.

We totally see why Lucky is so in love with Blitz, and we can't believe that someone would kidnap him.

But, luckily this story has a happy ending because Lucky posted a video of Blitz safely home.

Lucky reportedly paid at least some of the requested ransom money. But the story gets pretty weird. A rapper named Boogotti Kasino actually returned the dog, but he insists that he was just an intermediary, not the kidnapper. So while we're pretty confused at what went down, we are SO glad that the adorable Blitz has been reunited with his proud papa.
