Rare Pit Bull-Chihuahua Mix's Size Is So Unique You Won't Be Able To Look Away
There are thousands of mixed-breed dogs in the world, with thousands of different breed combinations. Some include only two or three breeds, while others include more than a dozen. Whether naturally or with the assistance of a breeder, it's common for dogs to mate with those of a similar size, giving you popular mixes like cockapoos, puggles, and goldendoodles. But in some cases, dogs of differing sizes reproduce, resulting in some...unusual-looking puppies. Lexi Torres shared a video of her rare "Pee-wawa" mix — half pit bull, half Chihuahua — on TikTok in September 2025 as an example. The caption reads, "& yes, this is as big as she's gunna get."

The clip has received more than 25,000 likes and more than 4,000 comments. Many viewers shared snapshots of their own pit bull-Chihuahua dogs or other unique breed combos, including a Chihuahua-husky mix, a Doberman-dachshund mix, and a yorkie-German shepherd mix. And as you'd expect, questions of the logistics of the breed combo arose in the comments. Although Lexi didn't address the question, one viewer suggested that her pup was the result of a male Chihuahua impregnating a female pit bull.
The dog's weight isn't specified, but she looks to be no heavier than 30 pounds, putting her on the lighter end of the pit bull weight range. A full-blooded, adult American pit bull terrier typically weighs 30 to 70 pounds.
Other adorable crossbreed dogs
As viewers showed with their own photos, the pit bull-Chihuahua combination is just one of many unique mixed breeds. Kiki is another. Born in the Philippines, Kiki is part Belgian Malinois and part aspin, a mixed breed native to the Philippines. She's commonly confused with a German shepherd-corgi mix because of her stumpy legs and facial features that are so similar to those of shepherds. Eight-year-old Kiki now lives in Canada with her humans and has her own Instagram.
Kujo is another crossbreed with a striking appearance. This corgi-Pomeranian mix, pictured above, appears to be under 15 pounds and has long, fluffy fur and the signature "corgi butt." Speaking of fur, it isn't quite as thick as a Pomeranian's, so it's likely easier to manage. His upright ears are larger than a standard Pomeranian's, but smaller than a standard corgi's. If one corgipom isn't enough for you to admire, you can find pictures of another with Kujo on his Instagram page.
Last, but not least, is Nimble. This border collie-papillon mix made history in 2024 at 6 years of age when she became the first mixed-breed ever to win the Westminster Kennel Club show's agility competition. A border collie can run, as a herding breed, up to 20-30 miles an hour. Nimble clearly inherited the large, wing-shaped ears from the papillon side, but has the size and speed of a border collie, finishing the competition in under 29 seconds.
