Abused Dog Adopted By Officer Who Rescued Him
Meet Earl the terrier mix. Hard to imagine anyone would even think about harming this scruffy sweetie, but we, unfortunately live in a world where the unthinkable happens to helpless animals. But before you shake your fist at the heavens, rest assured that this story has a happy ending!
It starts with a mall security guard who called police to report a man throttling, kicking, and throwing a dog inside of his Ford Mustang in the parking lot of the Valley River Center in Eugene, Oregon in the wee hours of the night on April 26, 2016. Officer Robert Rosales arrived at the scene, promptly arresting the man and rushing a badly injured Earl to an emergency treatment facility.
Officer Rosales' heroism doesn't end here! To pay for Earl's medical bills, he used his own hard-earned dough and donations he collected. Most importatly, though, he's decided to give the little fella a permanent place in his own home. Earl is thought to be 12 - 18 months old and is still recovering from brain trauma and additional health issues like vision problems and temporary paralysis. However, he's adjusting to his new life very well, and will no doubt receive plenty of well-deserved TLC for the foreseeable future.
