Cuteness Interviews Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund
Crusoe the Celebrity Dachshund is quite a guy. Not only is he well-travelled and the star of multiple viral videos, he's also the author of a New York Times bestselling book, Crusoe, the Celebrity Dachshund: Adventures of the Wiener Dog Extraordinaire. Crusoe is aptly named after Robinson Crusoe, the famous explorer, due to his love of traveling, exploring, and attention. In between his jet setting and many media appearances, Crusoe took a moment to sit down and chat with us about his exciting life as a canine adventurer.
You have a pawsome sense of style. What is your favorite outfit that you've worn?
Hard to say because they're all for very different occasions. If I'm doing some sort of outdoor activity, then definitely my fishing vest and hat because that's my most favorite thing ever; for lounging around the house, a cozy sweater and pair of smart-looking spectacles; for trouncing around downtown, a fashionable harness or swanky tee.
What's your best memory ever?
Hm, I really enjoyed my first "out of country" travels to the Bahamas where I experienced beautiful secluded beaches where I could run and dig all I wanted. I also really enjoyed my Europe trip though, especially hiking the Swiss mountains.
Would you rather: have an endless supply of treats OR have an ultimate amount of belly rubs OR the most comfy dog bed that has ever existed?
I already sleep on a Memoryfoam mattress, and get daily back massages by Dad. I like treats but if I ate too many I'd lose my million dollar figure. So I'll stick with the latter two options. But, replace the first one with "endless supply of squeaky toys", then oh boy, watch out.
If you could live in a book, TV show, or movie, what would it be and why?
I'd probably live in my own book, because my life is pretty awesome ;)
If you could be a different animal, what animal would you be and why?
Many people already say I'm very human-like in my behaviour and nature, so perhaps a human, but sometimes I feel they have too much responsibility and duties in life. So maybe for my retirement I'd just become a lazy house cat.
If you could hang out with any historical figure, who would it be?
Although not a real person, I would go meet Robinson Crusoe, whom I was named after. Plus I like beaches, coconuts, and Fridays.
How would you spend a billion dollars?
I'd buy that private island in the Bahamas that I've been asking Mum and Dad for. Supposedly it's "excessive" to buy an island.. Pff.
What would be the first thing you did if you were president of your country?
Abolish puppy mills!
If you could time travel, would you go to the past or the future?
The past, so I could relive my life a second time. A dog's life is so short in the grand expanse of things; if I could live it twice I would, as I know Mum and Dad would also give anything to see me as a puppy again!
What makes you the happiest?
I really enjoy when the whole family is together in the house. I grew up seeing the parents of my Mum and Dad quite often, so when the holidays come around and all the families are there together, I love that. Then if it happens to be Christmas, well then I get to open presents, which I also love!
What words of wisdom would you like to share with the world?
"I do not get taken on walks; I lead expeditions". Let those be guiding words for all dogs out there to live big and pursue all adventures!
What inspired you to share your life with the world?
Dad noticed that I had uncanny good looks and was very photogenic. It started as just a blog for fun about my grand adventures as a little wiener dog to share with friends and family.
