Benbencatcat, the cat with the saddest eyes on the internet, is using his newfound fame to help other strays and rescues like himself.

His own touching story is the best case scenario for many animals, and he (and his "hoomans") hope to make a difference for animals in need.

Found as a stray in terrible condition, Benbencatcat was fortunate to receive medical care for deep lacerations, a crushed spine, and cauliflower ear. Veterinarians did not believe he would ever walk again, and on the eve of his euthanization, Benben met the family that would be his forever.

Benben's fate was incredibly fortunate. According to the ASPCA, approximately 2.7 million animals are euthanized each year in the United States alone, many of which entered into shelters as strays. While Benben has a fantastic family and is totally Instagram famous, about 70 million stray cats live in the US.

Now Benbencatcat has his own GoFundMe page, aptly entitled BenBen FundFund for Animals in Need, to help raise money to save the lives of strays and provide medical attention. Benben's family will also be opening a P.O. Box to receive physical donations such as blankets, food, and toys.
