Cuteness supports ASPCA's nationwide campaign to encourage pet owners to Pledge to Prepare to keep their pets safe in the event of a natural disaster. August 23, 2015 marks the 10-year anniversary of Hurricane Katrina, which, in addition to killing close to 2,000 people, left 600,000 pets deceased or without homes. Nearly half (44%) of the people who refused to evacuate during Hurricane Katrina said it was because they felt they didn't have the ability to bring their animals with them. Despite this tragic outcome, which should have taught pet owners across the nation an important lesson in preparedness, a recent poll shows that 35% of pet owners still don't have plans in place for the next big storm.
Don't be one of the many who will NOT be prepared to keep your precious pets safe during a disaster! We ask that you please:
1) Carefully read the valuable information on this infographic, "When Disaster Strikes," provided by the ASPCA. Better yet, print it out and keep it handy!
2) Sign ASPCA's pledge, promising that you'll be properly prepared for a natural disaster.
3) Share the infographic with friends and family and encourage them to make the pledge as well.
Thank you from all of us at Cuteness.com!
