If you or your family is looking for a specific type of dog, there are many ways to find one. You can contact your local shelter to see if they have the breed you're looking for, you can get in touch with breed specific rescues, or you can purchase a certain dog breed from a breeder. Unfortunately, not all breeders are created equal and some do very little to care for and nurture their dogs. In these cases, the dogs are nothing more than breeding factories with the only care being the bottom line and not the dog's well being or health. Although a dog from a puppy mill might be the specific breed you want, these dogs often have health issues or socialization problems from being kept in unsanitary, confined conditions.
