Meet Butler, a one-eyed senior Pekingese who has been through quite the ringer...
With some wonky teeth and some health problems, his previous owners couldn't see his beauty and cuteness...
Here's what his mom now has to say about his story:
We've only had Butler about 6 months. He was rescued. When he was 3, he was attacked by a big dog and that's how he lost his eye. He got adopted but brought back to the shelter, Animal Haven, about 5 years later in pretty bad shape. When we got him he was bald, had a skin disease and a million other problems! But he was nourished back to life with meds, skin treatment, flax oil and now takes a joint supplement. He loves walks, other dogs (all sizes), and his favorite thing by far is mealtime. He walks very slowly, has a bad hip, but occasionally we see a small run. My husband and I were not looking for a dog, but he was being fostered by a friend who asked us to watch him for a weekend and it was love at first sight!
We're so happy Butler found a warm and welcoming forever home. Check out this adorable video of his new life:
