my 1st chow...champion in Dog shows and a champion in my heart forever...
Turnner is a very outgoing, friendly and all around very lovable family dog. He love's the snow and will run around with his mouth open eating it while he goes.
Merlin is very Lovable and very smart. He likes to think he is the house manager.
hes a rescued chow chow
Luke is a fantastic dog. He loves people and other dogs but he is a little shy when he first meets you. He is a good protection barker and will let you know if anyone is around who isn't usually around. He has a very handsome long, black coat so he requires some grooming from time to time.
Believe it or not, I'm still a baby boy. My birthday is on December 10th and I will be turning 3 years old this year (2012)... that's considered a teen in human years, but I will always be the baby in my family!
Scarlet was a puppy we had that a friend of mine (so called friend as I found out) brought her 2 kids over and let them pick out a puppy. They already had a male pup but he was already half grown and hadn't been trained or anything; well I go over to visit, I don't know really why I decided to do that, but I did, hubby had the car in town so I got on my bike and rode over to her house, now mind you it was a very very small town so it wasn't much of a ride. I get there and barely get in the door an set down my jacket and purse, and had just sat down when the dauther told me that the puppy I gave them was dying...well that made my heart stop for sure!! I asked here what happend, and she said that their OTHER pup, the one I mentioned earlier, pinned her down on her back and chewed her up, and that now she won't even get up, so I asked her where Scarlett was and she took me to the back door of the trailor house, there were now steps so I had to jump down, when I called out Scarletts name she got up and came started to come to me as best she could....her poor throat/neck was so swollen she couldn't move her head!!! I snatched her up, craweled back up into the trailor house and told my so called friend that I would be back for my stuff later, yes I left my jacket and purse there! I jumped on my bike with Scarlett in my left arm and driving the bike with the right. She was so happy and grateful to see me, and I think somehow she knew I would help her, because she never gave any fuss what so ever. When we got home I put her in the tub to was the dirt and debris off, she just sat there with a sad look on her face, I then poured a bit of peroxide on it, I didn't want to, cuz I know how much that hurts, but I needed for ALL the bite holes to open up, I dapped it dry and then smeared, very gently, with Iodex, then I laid her on a pillow while I prepared a box I could lay her in, nothing fancy just somehting that she could lay in comfortably, and cut the end off so she wasn't "closed in", I put an ice pack on her neck, and I made her a concoction of liquid silver, a small piece of aspirin crused up and mixed into the liq. silver, and a small piece of an anit biotic from a previous dog that had had in infection. In 30 of laying her in the box, putting the ice pack on her neck, and giving her my concoction, her neck was back to normal size again!!! Had to feed her soft food for a while ass she choked easily, after 3 months she was eating hard food again, but she choked still a lot, but she got over it. We still have today, and she's my baby!! My fuzzy fat baby! LOL She is ALWAYS happy, and NEVER does anything wrong. She is the absolute best dog. Just don't try to pin her down or get her on her back, she will freak out!!
Segra is a very unique dog indeed. She is the only dog I have ever met that has NEVER been afraid of loud noises! She LOVES the 4th of July!! We have another female named Scarlet, she isn't bothered by them, but she just lays there care free....Segra on the other hand, well, lets put it this way, I ACTUALL BUY FIREWORKS JUST FOR HER!!! She chases the bottle rockests lol, and she runs circles around the missilis, and other spinners, she knows to stay back but we remind her regularly. She can also jump a 6 foot fence so long as she has the whole back yard to get a good momentem going, and she will if she see's a cat!!! She's also a couch potato to a degree too. But she is a lot of fun, very charismatic, and full of life! They are our kids, and yes the are indoor dogs all 5 of them!! :D
BO has Yellow Eye's like a wolf's, and has the best personality! He loves to sleep upside down. He is VERY VERY Vocal when he wants something, and pushy pushy pushy when he wants you to pet him! But he will repay you with lots of kisses. He loves treats and will toss them in the air and catch them and run around with it then flop down and eat it. He makes me laugh so hard sometimes it makes tears come out of my eyes!!!! <3 <3
My husband's sweet dog (Max) of 12 years passed away. About two months later we adopted "Terra" from Bainbridge Ga animal shelter. We love "Terra" sooooo much!!
one of the seven bully breeds stays around my place that I don't want to be put down due to their breed. that will happen if I bring him or any of the others in to animal control since they cant be re homed due to their pedigree
He shy, likes to be talk to, likes bacon
was once pet but I have tried the shelters, Craigslist, and other advertisements no one came and got him.
Styx got his name from his desire to collect every stick he could find! He loved to carry them around, every time I walked out the door he would be in the yard somewhere with a stick in his mouth! He still thinks he's a puppy, and he is a great dog! He loves to be loved and is spoiled rotten!! He's my boy! You mess with me, you will have to speak with him first! LOL
Hi! I'm Oso (spanish for "bear"), a Cream Chow Chow and I guess I'm pretty rare 'cause people that see me either ask what the heck I am, or say I'm the cutest dog they've ever seen which is pretty flattering. *inner ears blush* I prefer to be shaved, especially in the summer months, but lately I've decided I like to be shaved all the time. I'm much more comfortable and I don't smell as bad. *embarrassed look*. I'm getting up there in age so I sleep a lot of the time, and I've been told I'm a very loud snorer. I have the classic purple chow tongue, and a pink nose! My younger mama says I have a "hippo muzzle", whatever that means. I hope it means cute... I looove treaties/biskies/milk bones, ground chicken, and CHEESE! Otherwise I'm pretty fussy about what I eat. I don't care for dry dog food much but whenever I have the chance I will raid Rafiki and Roly's kitty food. I find it much more flavorful!! Like most Chows, it's my personal duty to guard the front door full-time, but I don't bark! I make a loud guttural whine that sounds a lot like a sea lion. Once the door opens, I wag my tail happily and want to meet the stranger. I can tell once I see them if they are friendly or have ill intentions. I have trouble with stairs-- not really because I'm old but 'cause Chows have very unique straight hind legs. I'm very tentative to use stairs but if either of my mommies goes up or down a floor I muster up the courage to follow. I *hate* to be alone. But when my mommies have to leave the house, I miss them a lot but I'm a very good boy and just sleep by the door until they come back. I don't care much for toys, fetch, or playing. The only time I get hyper and excited is after I go poo! I like to play, chase, spin, and jump once I get that outta the way. My mommies say I could be an agility dog!... but only under special circumstances, I guess. Oh, and if I see a squirrel, I get pretty riled up then too. I am very healthy and happy for my age and expect to stay around as long as I can to protect my mamas, I live with two cats, Roly and Rafiki. Rafiki trusts me but is a little skittish, that's just his nature. I'm very close to Roly because we've known each other from day 1. He likes to rub up against me like he does for the humans and I think that's pretty cute. Believe it or not, my family adopted me from the local county animal shelter where I was a 2 yr old stray! Nowadays, I don't wander more than 20 feet from my people. I love them so much and I know they love me too!
Gracie Fuzzy Butt Gorilla Dog is my soul dog. She came to me just before my youngest child left the nest. She was born to a very young outside dog that was alowed to get breed the first time she came into heat. They unchained her mother and put up a fence for when she had the puppies. Gracie was one of 3 born and the only female in the litter. I was lucky enough to become her owner. I would go and handle her from the time she was 2 days old and I brought her home at the age of 5 weeks because of the conditions she was living in. She was head strong and extremely strong in body as she grew. Walks were torture for me. She could pull me off my feet and than drag me once she got me down. My family begged me to get rid of her before she seriously hurt me. I refused....I had fallen in love with this fur ball and wasn't going to give up on her. We went to many obedience classes, than began agility. Giving her an outlet for her energy finally worked. She calmed and and a wonderful loving spirit came forth. Her trainer suggested her for therapy training. At the age of 3 she became a TDI registered Therapy Dog. Now at the age of 11 she is starting to slow down some. She still takes her work to heart although I've had to cut back on some of her visits. I can't truely put into words what this dog has done for me and for the many people she has given her love and magic to. From autistic children to cancer patients to older ones with alzhiemers and working in psychiatric wards, Gracie's heart/soul burns bright and heals in a special way. She is my once in a lifetime dog.
Hi! I'm Nala, a chow samoyed cross. I'm getting older now but I still find the energy to be a puppy when my mom comes to see me. See, I can't live with her because her mom doesn't like dogs. So I stay with her grandmom and her godfather and her aunt and 4 cousins. I love them a lot but nothing beats when my mom comes over. She always gives me treats and lots of scratches and even takes me on walks even though we have a back yard. I really love it. When I was younger I used to love tennis balls. They were my favorite and I was really good at catching them. Now it's getting harder to see so my mom doesn't make me if I don't want to. We have a cat that lives with us too. Her name's Pearly Girl. We don't do much together. Sometimes I chase her but she doesn't like that so I pretty much leave her alone. I love my life and my people are very good to me. Maybe they'll give me some treats if I look cute enough :)
Very sweeet loving girl! Best companion and always there when I need her. :)
