My name is Baxter!
Baxter was purchased for $1200.00. The original owner loved the cute & cuddly dog. When he was five months old, the owner tied him in the backyard with no interaction until he was ten months old and I rescued him. Why did she do that? "His legs got too tall," she said. OM goodness. Baxter and I have worked hard. He was uncontrollable and non-socialized. For a year, we trained and trained. He has earned his AKC Canine Good Citizen and is now a Therapy Dog. We go to three hospitals; we do three READ programs for special needs first graders and we go to a Care Center. Baxter has come a long way and I am so PROUD OF HIM.
Hello finned, furred, or feathered friends. My name is Baxter, and I enjoy pooping in the refrigerator, eating whole wheels of cheese, and hanging with my best friend, Katow-jo. I love my dad. He calls me his little gentleman, and promised to take me to foggy London town.
My name is Baxter, and I moved to Massachusetts after my mom got a job here. When she came home to get me, we flew up on an airplane -- and I rode up front with mom! And even TSA thought I was a handsome guy! I'm a laid back kitty, but if you say "birdie", that's the word for my special toy, and you will HAVE to play with me!
Baxter is a spoiled Boston Terrier that lives in WI. He has his mommy wrapped around his little paw!
Baxter was being mauled by much larger dogs when my husband saw him in a pet store window.
He tried to get the shop owners attention to rescue him. When the busy shop owner got to him he just handed Baxter to my Husband who called and said "honey I think I am bringing a dog home" Baxter has been such a joy and has the brightest dog personality in the house.
He is quick, alert, camera ready, likes to play, sleep, eat, run and has 2 old pugs for room mates.
The Pugs love him and it is special to see them all curl up together like they have a baby. He keeps them young and they keep him warm and safe.
Baxter is a smart, spoiled Yorkie-Poo
Baxter is sweet and crazy. He loves to boogie board in the pool and to hassle our cats. He will eat just about anything. I keep a running list of exotic or unusual things he has eaten. His best friend is his cousin Lottie, a Blue Heeler.
Baxter was originally supposed to be the quest and the purchase of a German Shepherd. That being said, a search was initiated far and wide (mom was a little picky about the type of GSD she wanted). She looked all over the internet and in the local paper for a breeder, but to no avail. One day in a long and faraway place, (5miles down the road) she stopped at a local pet store “just to look”. They had a German Shepherd puppy, but there was also a cute fluffy soft dog that looked something like a lamb and a llama. Well, the lamb looking dog won her over….she took one look at him and mom’s heart was stolen. The breeder told her that he was a Soft Coated Wheaten Terrier. She never heard of this breed, but he was soooooo soft and playful that she decided to go home and think about it. As soon as she got home she searched the internet and she fell in love with the pictures of the puppies. They all looked like little Boyd bears. Mom being the researcher that she is found a local breeder within the same hour. It's Did I mention she was supposed to be looking for a German Shepherd? The local breeder sent us Baxter’s picture and that was that, she had to go “look” at him.
She had a plan! She decided she was going to “just go and look”…even though she had enough cash on her to buy him. She was “just looking”… and the other part of the plan was to negotiate a lower price. Mama drove and took several wrong turns but, just when she was about to give up she found the dirt road. Finally, she found the house! One look at Baxter and she was done! She never even mentioned the price; she just scooped him up and handed all the money over and left as fast as she could!! Somehow she had the idea that anyone with a puppy this cute couldn’t possibly part with it! So…she was off and running with her new addition!!
Now, I know what you are thinking. You wanted a German Shepherd??? Do you have any idea what type of breed you got? The answer is yes…. oh yes! I know exactly what I was getting in to. The difference between a German Shepherd and a Terrier is huge! And that’s where my mission began. My mission was to train this sweet little guy to be the most obedient and well behaved dog anyone had ever seen.
Lo and behold…Baxter ended up training me!! He made me realize that what I thought that this puppy was dumb as a rock was actually Baxter’s superior intelligence over mine. Almost a year later and at my wit’s end, I found that there are more ways than one to train, especially with a terrier breed. Baxter has taught me more than 11 years of military work ever could have! Baxter has taught me to be patient, to be a nicer person, and what it truly means to love unconditionally. He has an incredible innate ability to pick up on my emotions and is always there to consult me when I am sad or upset. Baxter is the sweetest boy I have met.
Okay, Okay I didn't want to gloat about myself because it's just not like me. But since you asked, here's my story. I came to be thanks to my parents who were Persian show champions. I, myself was supposed to go on and fulfill the family legacy but my tail had a kink in it. I'm not bitter, because I have a great domestic life with my family now who loves me very much. They call me the Prince of Persia and I was even introduced to Chloe's kindergarten (human) class as that and they were all delighted. I am so chill and I keep this look on my face all the time. It's part evil, part sugary sweetness. My two human sisters love me sooo much. I am happy they cuddle me all of the time. I am constantly purring and always want to be rubbed. My mom is allergic to me but loves me anyway. Oh and I have this one fun trick where I look all nice and chilled out on my back hoping someone will come and rub my belly, but when they do, I grab their hand and give them a big love bite and say..."grrrr". I sort of have a complex about my meow, everyone says it sounds weird, but what they don't know is that I do it on purpose!! That's all for now.
