Echo is my 7 month old rat, who often gets called "Eccy",I got her when she was 4 weeks old and since then she hasn't lived in a cage. She is very friendly and has a funny little personality. So far she has learnt to come to her own name and the stand up on command, She quite playful and likes to wrestle with fingers and hair. She has developed little habits such as:
- at 7am to wake me up, and if i dont get up she pulls my hair
- as soon as i sit down she will sit on my lap
- as soon as the door opens to my room she will jump on the bed
- She runs across my arm when im typing or using the mouse
- She sits under my chin when my eating so she gets food
- As soon as i turn my light off she comes and lays along my arm
- She takes afternoon naps with me, and sleeps on my tummy when im watching Tv

Reason for name;
Echo was an Oread (a mountain nymph) who loved her own voice. Zeus loved consorting with beautiful nymphs and visited them on Earth often. Eventually, Zeus's wife, Hera, became suspicious, and came from Mt. Olympus in an attempt to catch Zeus with the nymphs. Echo would distract and amuse his wife Hera with long and entertaining stories, while Zeus took advantage of the moment to ravish the other mountain nymphs. When Hera discovered the trickery she punished the talkative Echo by taking away her voice, except in foolish repetition of another's shouted words. Thus, all Echo could do was repeat the voice of another.

I'm Echo! My friends who rescued me at the Capital Area Humane Society gave me my name. I am odd-eyed with one blue and one green eye. I also happen to be deaf, but I don't mind because I was born that way. I'm a very loving and happy kitty who loves to give kisses. I was rescued from a Walmart parking lot at about 6 weeks old where I was being tortured by people chasing me and throwing things at me. It was very scary! My tail had been broken on the tip, my whiskers above my eyes had been singed and my whiskers on my left cheek had been cut! My mama adopted me from the Capital Area Humane Society when I was about 12 weeks old. I am now big and beautiful and the sweetest cat my family has ever known.
