Hi, I'm Oscar! I love to play! I was found as a very small abandoned kitten and was afraid of people and very shy. The great people at HOPE Animal Rescue put me in a foster home, where I also met my brother Finnegan, until I found my forever family. Since I have come home I have had tremendous progress. I am less timid around people and I love being petted when on my parents bed. I love to snuggle with Finnegan and Missy. Life is good.
Oscar is a beautiful kitty that would just melt your heart:) He got his name because when I brought him home the first day, he growled! so...Oscar, the grouch:)
Oscar has a littermate brother, Omar, that we have as well...
Oscar is diabetic and requires 2 shots per day.
He has had so many health problems, some say he is the worlds most expensive kitty! But, anything to keep him well...he is my baby!
Our beloved Oscar has been peacefully put to sleep on February 28, 2012. We had the vets come to our home and I held him as he fell asleep... His whole family was surrounding him when he went!
We miss him so very much!!!
He was having seizures more often and the last 1 just took its toll on poor Oscar. The next day we took him to the vet. The xrays showed he had a boney mass in his chest, vertibrae fuzing together near his tail and his one kidney was sugnificantly smaller than the other!
Just please remember, kitties don't show their pain too well! We knew none of this was going on until the day before he passed! If you see something isn't right, please, get your buddy checked out! All we knew is that the seizures were getting more frequent...and he was having issues sitting easily(thought this was from seizures)
There was never a reason given for his seizures, we were doing blood test after blood test for the diabetes and seizures...
RIP, Oscar... May 1997~February 28, 2012
I am Oscar. My mom named me after a beloved cat who crossed the Rainbow Bridge long ago. It is an honor to know that I remind my mom of "old Oscar". My brother, Jack and our little sister, Angel, and I were born into a "hoarding" situation. When we were brought here to the Barn, as small kittens, we were all skinny, runny eyed, and covered with fleas. We were in bad shape--little Angel was too weak even to eat on her own. Our first visit to Dr. Bradbury was scheduled for the next morning. Sadly, our baby sister died during the night--she was just so little and weak, the fleas sucked her dry. We were all so sad. But as time went by Jack and I grew strong and healthy. We played all the time--Jack was my best friend as well as my brother. But as fate would have it, Jack died after a brutal attack by a raccoon. My heart was broken. Then along came Mena, and I fell in love. Soon we were joined by Dewey and little Belle. So after all, with friends and the love of my mom, I am content.
Oscar's favorite things include nachos, cuddling while watching TV, and disapproving of his brother miles' antics.
My mommy & Daddy rescued me from the NHSPCA when I was 8 weeks old. I instantly stole there hearts. :) I love to play, and one of my favorite toys is a mini toy cat that I carry around everywhere. I am an indoor cat, but I love to sit at the window and watch the birds. I crave attention, and will climb on anyone’s lap if they pet me.
Oscar and His brother Felix were found as kittens and bottle fed by their human mommy. Soon after, their new mommy discovered they were deaf. Oscar loves his cat tree and chasing bugs! His best friend in our Australian Shepherd, Sally.
My name is Oscar Elvis Mann and my mom recently rescued me from the Philadelphia SPCA. I love to sleep on my back with my legs up in the air. I always wake my mom and dad up at 5 am to eat by scratching the side of the bed. I don't like my belly rubbed but I do like to be held like a baby. My favorite thing to play with is ping pong balls. I can say "mom" and "Mike". If I had it my way I would do nothing but eat all day.
