Hi my name is Buddy i am 2 years old
Hi everyone! My name is Buddy. Some people call me the Bud Man. My journey started with my family back in February 2010. One cold, rainy morning, about 5 am, this lady came outside with her two Beagles. She didn't see me right away because I was hiding under a tarp. Then I decided to be brave and walk out from under the tarp. I didn't make a sound because I wasn't sure what the two other furballs would do to me. She saw me instantly. At that point she was concerned about the other furballs and how they would react to me. I wasn't too concerned because afterall they are Beagles. Everyone knows they follow their noses. Those girls were not interested in me. Anyway, the lady tried to approach me but I was scared of her. So, I ran down the driveway but as I was about to make my treck down the street I turned around at the end of the driveway and barked at her. As I was wandering the neighborhood I couldn't stop thinking about those Beagles and that lady. I decided to come back to the house a few hours later. I sat at her back door because it kept me out of the rain. Then I got spotted by the Beagles and they went crazy barking. This of course got the lady's attention. She was so nice. I liked her but was very scared of her. After being there a little while a guy came home. I was really scared of him! He was so big. I really started to like him because he opened up his garage and set up a bed with a space heater so I could dry off and keep warm. It was like I had my own bachelor pad. Anyway, the lady was concerned because I looked thin and she wanted to feed me. At first I would only eat if she left food for me at a distance. Then I decided to be brave again and walk up to the lady. She sat down beside me and hand fed me warm breakfast tacos. They were the best because I ate 2!!!! I hung around the house for a few days. During that time the lady and man and their family put flyers out saying they had found me. They even took me to their vet to make sure I didn't have a microchip. I didn't. They knew it was important to find my family because they had two Beagles and they said they would be very upset if they lost one of them. They finally let me come in their house to interact with the Beagles. They sniffed and sniffed me but I stayed cool. I just sat there like a good boy. The whole family tried to hug and rub me and sometimes I let them. Afterall, who doesn't love getting loved on. After one month the family gave up hope looking for my original family. Then it happened. This so so exciting! The lady and man went to Petsmart. Did you hear me? Petsmart. They got me my own water and food bowls. They even got me, get this, a collar with skulls on it and a name tag. Guess what this meant? This meant I had a new family and I was so hoping for this. From that point on I called them mom and dad. They took me to the vet to make sure I had all my shots and I was in good health. For the most part I was. They said I had some sort of worm. Yuck! Mom and dad gave me medicine for a little while and then I was all good. They were not sure how old I was at that time. The vet guessed I was about 4. My parents still go by the time they got me which was 3 years ago. So I am 7 to the vet but 3 to my family. My breed is a Terrier mix. So I am a mutt and proud of it! Oh and the best thing is I got two sisters named Daisy and Sarah. I got to run and play and just have a grand time with them . Sarah was the goofy one I had the most fun with. I always liked to take naps with her. Daisy was very stoic and in charge when she was in the room. I learned a lot of good things from the both of them. The sad thing is Sarah went to the bridge December 2010 and Daisy went to the bridge March 2013. I sure miss them. I overheard my parents saying they were ready to get a new puppy Beagle. Very excited. Stay tuned to see what happens my friends.
Buddy is one of a kind, A 3 time survivor of the Dog Pound, The Mailman's (Me) best friend. His previous owner was given him by his brother who rescued him from the pound, both guys are big time dog lovers, But the old man had 6 already and Buddy was the smallest, He would dig out and sit on the sidewalk waiting to share my lunch or water, So the Guy returned him to the pound, His brother happened to visit and see him so he assumed the Dog Catcher had got him, He took him out again and took him home. His next visit to the pound was via the Dog Catcher but by then he had won the old mans heart so he went and got him again. Then the day came where the city warned him about to many dogs on the property and buddy was once again slated for pick up which is where I intervened and brought him home. At first I was unsure how he would fit in, and then his kindness was demonstrated with my 2 year old Nephew, Buddy endured tail pulls, ear tugs and fingers in his ears nose and mouth with absolutely perfect tolerance. He later demonstrated that a crying baby got his full attention and he wanted someone to check the baby... simply put he does not have a mean bone in his body and he loves human attention in even the simplest form...
Hi my name is Buddy. I'm 8 weeks old and am a Lhasa Apso. I am learning new words like "Bed" & "No" ( actually I hear "No" a lot ). I am trying to be good, but it is so much fun being naughty. I believe everything likes to be chewed, especially shoes. I am also trying to remember to wee on the grass but sometimes I forget.
