Sometimes, maternal instincts cross species. We feel it when our pets literally feel like our kids and sometimes animals experience that deep, bonding love for animals they're 100 percent not related to—like Loryn, a golden retriever who is super sure she's the mom to some rescued baby goats.
Loryn cuddles her rescued goat babies and it's enough to actually melt your heart.
Loryn lives on a farm, so she's very used to interacting with lots of different animals and her motherly ways are nothing new.
"She is truly a mother hen and takes in every baby we have here as her own," Andrea Holley, Loryn's mom, told The Dodo.
“Loryn is my right-hand man and always helps corral the babies when we’re outside or round them up while playing inside,” Holley said. “She most definitely thinks they are her babies.”
And the goats love Loryn, too.
"They loved Loryn right away. They are together all day, every day," Holley said.
Dogs and goats are officially our new favorite animal pairing.
