Cavapoo Looks Unrecognizable After A Bad Haircut And His Face Says It All

We've all had to deal with a bad haircut or two in our lives, when the hairdresser or barber ignores everything we tell them and creates a frizzy monstrosity on our heads. Enough time heals even the worst haircut, but the growing-out period can be emotionally wrenching.

In a TikTok video that's been shared over 2 million times, Louie the cavapoo is dropped off at the dog groomer, looking scruffy and unkempt but happy, with sparkling eyes and his tongue lolling out. "The dog I dropped off," reads the caption on the first photo. "The dog I picked up," says the caption on the second picture — and what a difference one grooming session can make. After his haircut, the cavapoo looks like an entirely different creature, one with very little fur and a glare that could destroy individuals who lack a strong constitution.

"His stare is burning a hole straight into the heart of the stylist responsible for this 😂," writes Wingrdating. "Love cavapoos, but I swear every time [you] pick them up from the groomers they look different 😂," owner Maddie Hilaski notes in a comment on her video.

Preventing dog grooming fails

To prevent haircut blunders and ensure a stress-free visit to the dog groomer, it's important to find the right groomer for your dog's needs, especially if your pet experiences anxiety in new situations or around new people. Professional groomers should be willing to meet with you to answer questions about their experience, techniques, licenses, and certifications, and they should use fear-free grooming practices to reduce each dog's stress level as much as possible. Ask other pet owners for recommendations, and don't hesitate to walk away from any groomer you have concerns about.

Louie the cavapoo did eventually forgive his owner, according to a TikTok video posted a few days after the pouty pooch's infamous haircut. Louie still looks serious in the video, even a tad suspicious, as he poses next to a pile of new dog toys and treats. "Just to let everyone know, Louie is very well taken care of and loved... he's also more spoiled than I am," Maddie Hilaski reassures her followers.
