Goldendoodle Beginning Healing Journey After A Tragic Life Will Bring Tears To Your Eyes

Is there anything more heartbreaking than seeing an abused and neglected dog and feeling powerless to do anything to fix the situation? In an October 2025 TikTok video that's been viewed more than 3.5 million times, an animal lover describes how she read a Facebook post about two dogs — a severely neglected goldendoodle and a deceased dog — left outside in a yard, with an owner who refused to surrender them to kindhearted neighbors. After both the police and animal control failed to rescue the emaciated goldendoodle, the good Samaritan felt compelled to act.

She paid the owner $500 for the dog, just to get the creature to safety. The sweet 2-year-old dog, now named Daisy, is shown cuddling with her rescuer in the car and acting like a bundle of joyful energy at the veterinary office, despite what has clearly been a lifetime of neglect and abuse at the hands of humans. Daisy was almost completely bald due to a skin infection, was covered in fleas, had hookworms, anemia, and a high white blood cell count, but her rescuer was determined to nurse the dog back to health and find her a forever home.

Viewers of the TikTok video instantly fell in love with sweet Daisy. "I can't believe how much love she still has to give after everything she went through and watching her sibling pass," one commented. "She really does look like a daisy! She'll bloom in her own time," another wrote.

Daisy's journey to physical and emotional health

Daisy's rescuer has been sharing a series of TikTok videos documenting both the search for Daisy's permanent home and the dog's improving health. As of December, happy and frisky Daisy is slowly gaining weight, going from 39 pounds at the time of her rescue to 50 pounds just over a month later, and her fur is growing back. Daisy plays with the other dogs in the household — sometimes a bit too roughly, as she seems in many ways like an overgrown puppy who hasn't yet learned good doggie manners.

A compilation video on TikTok showing 41 days of Daisy's joyful post-rescue life had commenters praising the doggo and her rescuer. "You not only saved Daisy, you gave her future family the incredible gift of this amazing dog. Thank you for doing this incredibly difficult work," one wrote. "Not only is there an obvious physical transformation, but look at the confidence you gave her," another commented.

It's never easy knowing what to do upon noticing the signs of an abused dog or seeing behavior that makes you suspect a pet is a victim of animal cruelty, but it's vitally important to take action. Dogs can't speak for themselves, so they need our help. And, as Daisy has shown, dogs will love us unconditionally if we give them the love and care they deserve. One commenter wrote, "Despite everything, she is still the most sweetest kind doggy ... we truly do not deserve these beautiful angels."
