Tiny Calico Kitten Scares Her Cat Brother With The Cutest Little 'Surprise!' Pose

Calico cats hold a special place in our hearts, from Mochi in "Big Hero 6" to the waving cat figures known as Maneki-neko (Lucky Cat) in Japanese culture. And now, a Persian calico named Carrot has also taken up residence in our hearts.

In a TikTok video that's been watched more than 17 million times, Carrot the fluffy calico kitten surprises her brother Chopper the British shorthair with a move that reminded several viewers of a different (but equally adorable) animal. "Baby must've been a red panda in her past life. The lil paws, so cute," one person commented. Another wrote, "Cat hardware with red panda OS."

Whether part red panda or 100% cat, Carrot is undeniably cute in the video: startling the other cat, playing rambunctiously with (and flipping over) a large donut tunnel cat bed, and scaling a tall cat tower. Viewers couldn't get enough of the frenetic feline antics of this feisty little furball. "Attack: 0% Damage: 0% Cuteness: 10000000%," one wrote. Another stated, "Not to be dramatic, but I'd die for Carrot."

What are the typical characteristics of Persian cats?

Carrot is a Persian cat breed, which is one of the fluffiest cat breeds around, and also one of the cat breeds that live the longest. Usually calm and placid, Persians tend to be sweet, mellow cats that like cuddling and receiving affection more than they enjoy chasing toys. They have long, thick fur that requires frequent combing, and their eyes often need to be wiped clean. Carrot's owner mentions in a comment that Carrot is a doll-face Persian. This type of Persian has a pointier nose than the ones with snub noses, who frequently experience breathing problems.

As for her coat color? More than 99% of calico cats are female, like Carrot. Though calico is not a breed, and scientists have found no personality traits linked to calico cats, many owners of these tri-colored cuties beg to differ. "I think calico cats act like they do [because] they're too many cats at once and it makes them insane," one viewer wrote on the TikTok video. Another commented, "Yeah that's a calico...change ALL expectations...and maybe update your will and testament."
