Dachshund Standing Guard In The Snow Looks Just Like A Game Of Thrones Character
Sometimes, a dachshund is just a wiener dog standing on a fence in the snow, and other times, a dachshund seems to transform into a beloved fictional character, much to the amusement of netizens who can't stop making delighted puns. That's certainly the case with Miles the dachshund. In a TikTok video that's been viewed more than 6.8 million times, the wiener dog bears a striking resemblance to a popular "Game of Thrones" character.

"Where others chase glory, Jon Snow PUP carries the weight of winter with honor," one viewer wrote. Another added, "I know no king but the King in the North whose name is Miles." As the serious-looking little doggo gazes off into the snowy distance from his perch upon a fence, he definitely brings to mind Jon Snow, Lord Commander of the Night's Watch, played by Kit Harington in the HBO series based on George R.R. Martin's novels. Commenters made repeated GOT references, writing that "winter is coming" and "the North remembers" and recommending that Miles should "bend the paw."
One viewer — who clearly won the internet that day — wrote, "I am the sword in the darkness. I am the watcher of the treats. I am the fire that burns against the cold, the light that brings the dawn, the bark that wakes the sleepers, the shield that guards the realms of doggos. I pledge my hoomans life and my honor to the Night's Watch, for this night and all the nights to come."
Small dogs with big personalities
The playful comments continued. One viewer of the TikTok video cheekily commented about Miles on the fence, "This is super unsafe for your dog. He's going to think he's King of the North and get an uncontrollable ego!" Others pointed out that most dachshunds already have out-of-control egos. Common personality traits of dachshunds include confidence, courage, and loyalty. These petite pooches are known to be some of the most stubborn dogs around, and they're one of the breeds most likely to develop small dog syndrome (SDS), along with Chihuahuas, Yorkshire terriers, and Jack Russell terriers.
SDS involves a cluster of unwelcome behaviors such as begging, barking excessively, acting aggressively or anxiously, and demanding constant attention. All too often, pet owners allow small dogs to get away with behavior that wouldn't be tolerated in big dogs because the pocket-sized pooches look cute and puppy-like. Some small dogs receive little to no training, and boundaries are enforced inconsistently or not at all. Fortunately, Miles doesn't appear to be one of those poorly behaved little dogs. As he gazes stoically beyond the wall, he seems ready to take on White Walkers or stray cats alike.
