Smart Husky Talking And Telling His Owner 'I Love You' Has People In Total Awe

Golden retriever Dug in the animated movie "Up" is able to communicate thanks to a special collar he wears that translates his doggie thoughts into spoken English. However, a handsome husky named Pluto needs no such electronic device to share his thoughts with humans. In an utterly charming TikTok video that's been watched more than 243,000 times, Pluto seems to repeat everything his mom prompts him to say, including "Hello," "How are you," "Thank you," and "I love you." Pluto stares intently at his person, waiting for the crunchy treats that reward each of his adorable utterances.

Viewers couldn't get enough of the well-spoken pooch with the beautiful blue eyes. "Omgggg I want a husky now. He's beautiful and soooooo talented," one wrote, while another joked, "Can I book your boy for a 30 min teletherapy appt?? I think he can help talk me thru my problems." Several commenters described their own chatty huskies, and one confessed, "I'm not teaching my husky to his full potential omg."

It turns out that Pluto has other impressive talents. In a YouTube video, the clever hound responded to his owner's commands spoken in Nepali. One viewer exclaimed, "Oh Pluto! A trilingual dog! English, Nepali, and canine! How smart you are!"

How talkative are huskies?

Huskies are one of the dog breeds that thrive in cold weather, thanks to their warm double coats and their history as sled dogs. It's this background as sled dogs that offers a logical explanation for why huskies are so darned chatty. In order to survive in the punishing cold, they had to learn the most effective ways to communicate with other members of their team, so they developed a range of expressive whines, yelps, cries, screams, and howls. Modern-day huskies use these sounds to convey their feelings to their owners with remarkable clarity. Some of them also become skilled at mimicking the words their owners say to them, the way Pluto does.

At one point in the TikTok video, Pluto also seems to whisper instead of speaking. One viewer commented, "Sweet boy, he was trying to use his indoor voice and ended up whispering. He didn't want to be too loud." Another shared, "The husky whisper cracks me up! I have to tell my dog 'big speak!' Or he will just whisper and sneeze 80 times." It seems all of Pluto's communication skills are top-notch.
