Chocolate Ragdoll Cat Giving The Camera A Little Wink Will Make You Swoon

Some cat videos become popular because of frenetic feline antics such as falling in fish tanks or zooming around homes at top speed. Others attract attention for smaller moments that are just quintessential cat. In an absolutely adorable video posted on TikTok, Finn the ragdoll cat does little more than lie on a fuzzy blanket, gaze at his owner, and give a tiny wink, but that's all it takes for viewers to profess their undying love and devotion to the sweet fur baby.

"What a beauty of a kitty & the chocolate brown...I'm in ❤️," one viewer wrote. Another commented, "Finn, I wish I could kiss 💋 your sweet face! Love you." It's simply impossible to resist the allure of Finn's fluffy fur and steady gaze. One person gushed, "Ohhh Finnie...I just wanna squeeze some love outta ya! I'd never get anything done during the day/night." Adding to the general cuteness, the fetching feline's TikTok bio describes him as "purring professionally since 2025."

The surprising history of ragdoll cats

If sweet little Finn has made you fall in love with this charming breed, then you might be interested to learn some fascinating facts about ragdoll cats. The breed's name comes from the fact that most of these kitties become limp like ragdolls when held or cuddled. Ragdolls are one of the fluffiest cat breeds around, alongside Persians, Norwegian forest cats, and Maine coons, and ragdoll fur needs regular brushing so it doesn't mat, like the fur of those other noted fuzzballs. These friendly, affectionate cats sometimes get mistaken for Birmans, though there are some differences between ragdoll and Birman cats. Ragdolls tend to be larger than Birmans and have a bit of an undercoat, while Birmans are smaller and do not have undercoats at all.

Californian Ann Baker started the breed, and the first officially recognized ragdoll was a calm cat named Daddy Warbucks, who was registered in 1966. All ragdolls are descended from Daddy Warbucks and three other cats, named Tiki, Kyoto, and Fugianna. Baker herself was more than a little eccentric when it came to the breed. According to Purina, "Ann Baker, the breeder credited with their origin, made outlandish claims about the Ragdoll, including influence from aliens, CIA experiments, and infusions of human genes to give them their human-like, docile personality."

Whether alien-made or bred right here on planet Earth, ragdolls are clearly one of the cutest cat breeds in existence — and Finn is living proof of that.
