German Shorthaired Pointer And Baby's Precious Bond Is Proof Big Dogs Are Gentle Giants
It's not every dog that gets given their very own human baby, but that's precisely what happened to a lucky German shorthaired pointer named Kobe. In an Instagram reel cheekily captioned "To the people who said we shouldn't get our GSP a baby... This one's for you π" β which has racked up more than 50,000 likes β the friendship between the gentle GSP and the new baby is shown, and it couldn't be sweeter. Kobe brings a stuffie to her new friend, they watch the world outside the window while cuddling, and Kobe tries to give a ball to the baby bouncing in a swing.
Viewers instantly fell in love with the precious pair of BFFs. "That dog loves that baby so much...They are such sweet dogs," wrote one viewer, while another pointed out, "Adorable. Wanting to share toys so early on is love." One person joked, "Now make your baby grow a little faster for God's sake cause that dog is READY to play with her ππβ€οΈ."
All about German shorthaired pointers
One of the best dog breeds if you live in a hot climate, thanks to their short fur and love of the water, GSPs were bred to be hunting dogs. They're friendly, enthusiastic, intelligent animals, known for their speed and agility. When it comes to male versus female German shorthaired pointers, the males tend to be larger and heavier, about 23 to 25 inches tall and 55 to 70 pounds in weight, while the females are a bit smaller and lighter, from 21 to 23 inches tall and weighing about 45 to 60 pounds.
As with any puppy, training a German shorthaired pointer puppy requires patience and consistency. GSPs possess great amounts of energy, so it's best to do a long exercise session with a GSP puppy before even attempting a training session. These dogs love running and swimming, and they enjoy spending lots of time with their owners. They're good with both other dogs and young children.
Several viewers of the Instagram reel told stories about their own GSPs, sharing in particular how excellent these dogs are with kids. "GSP and children = a match made in heaven π₯°. Our GSP was like this with our little grandson βΊοΈ," one wrote. Another added, "These pups have the patience of angels π."
