Brussels Griffon Who's Always Showing Off Her Tongue Has The Internet Obsessed
When a human sticks their tongue out, it's generally viewed as rude or mocking. But when a small dog sticks their tongue out? It just might be the cutest thing ever. For proof, check out a little Brussels griffon named Twix. In a funny TikTok video that's been viewed more than 4.8 million times and liked over 644,000 times, Twix does nothing more than sit on the couch with her tongue hanging out, but viewers instantly fell in love with the petite pooch.

"Bleppiest blep I've ever seen," wrote one person, while another exclaimed, "Love that face! Needs to be a meme!" Several viewers noted a certain vacant quality in the dog's expression. "The light is on but no one's home," one commented, and another observed, "Not a thought behind those eyes." More than one person identified deeply with the dog, writing things like "This is my spirit animal," and "This is how I look in math class when I don't understand the material 😭."
All about the Brussels griffon as a breed
The Brussels griffon is considered a shaggy dog breed, and each griffon has one of two possible types of coat: smooth or rough. Smooth-coated griffons need to be brushed every week all year round, and every day during the shedding seasons in fall and spring. Rough-coated griffons are one of the many types of dogs that have hair, not fur, and their hair is usually kept trimmed short, except for the dog's beard.
Griffons are brachycephalic, which means they have flat faces and short snouts. This facial anatomy causes many brachycephalic dogs to suffer from hanging tongue syndrome, which can lead the tongue to become dry, swollen, cracked, and thickened. Brachycephalic pooches are among the dog breeds that have the shortest lifespans, due to their many breathing issues, and they tend to snore and have difficulty breathing in hot or humid weather.
Often called Velcro dogs, griffons become very attached to their owners and don't like to be left alone. The American Kennel Club describes these cute canines as "comically self-important," with "enough personality for 10 ordinary dogs." It's easy to fall in love with these smart, loyal, playful dogs. One viewer of the TikTok video wrote about Twix, "I can't prove it but you stole her from a Pixar movie, I just know it! She's so cute!" Another awarded Twix a perfect score (presumably on the cuteness scale): "10/10. No notes."
