Cat's 'Futile Effort' To Calm Down Pack Of Golden Retriever Puppies Is Precious
There aren't many things in the world cuter than a pack of golden retriever puppies β unless it's a pack of golden retriever puppies being put in their place by a fluffy ragdoll kitten. In a funny TikTok video that's been viewed more than 79,000 times, a ragdoll named Ember maintains her position on the couch while thwacking any of the four rambunctious goldens who get too close to her or try to climb up. The video is captioned, "Ember trying to calm the puppies down...a futile effort. ππΎπ."

Viewers loved the animal antics, leaving comments like "Floof against floof" and "I want this problem." One person cheekily admonished the owner: "I can't believe you are allowing this? Now they will all want to become professional MMA fighters. How are you going to develop 4 careers?" Another viewer commented, "That cat is absolutely in a living hell [right now]," to which the animals' owner responded, "Don't let her fool you...She actually loves it. She is trying to get [them] to calm down so she can get on the floor and play with them."
How are ragdoll cats and golden retriever dogs similar?
It shouldn't be too surprising that Ember and the puppies normally get along well. After all, ragdolls and golden retrievers are similar in many ways. Ragdolls are sometimes called "puppycats" because of their laid-back, loyal, playful, and loving natures, just like goldens. Both ragdolls and goldens have been dubbed "Velcro pets" because they tend to follow their owners around a lot and like to be picked up.
Ragdolls often enjoy learning new tricks and playing fetch with their toys, similar to goldens. Both breeds are so friendly and easygoing that they usually do well living with other pets or with children. Ragdolls are also one of the fluffiest cat breeds, while golden retrievers have a thick double coat and are known to shed a lot, so anyone bringing home either a ragdoll cat or a golden retriever needs to be prepared with lint rollers and a powerful vacuum. One viewer of the TikTok video accurately summed up the biggest problem with having both a ragdoll kitten and some golden puppies at the same time: "I would get nothing done!!! π₯°"
