Goldendoodle's Bedtime Routine Is Total Self-Care Goals And We're Jealous

While there are no truly hypoallergenic dogs, goldendoodles come close. That's because these pups are known for their low-shed, wavy and curly hair, rather than fur, which also comes with fairly low maintenance grooming. But that doesn't mean goldendoodles can't be high maintenance themselves, especially when it involves self-care, like in this viral TikTok video. In it, we see an entire bedtime routine that a goldendoodle named Luca seems to love, and honestly? We're jealous!

At the beginning of the clip, we learn that Luca won't go to sleep unless the following steps occur. Luca is then rightfully pampered in an elaborate bedtime routine including tooth brushing, a mini bath with dog grooming wipes, hair brushing, a paw massage, and a face massage. Perhaps the cutest part is at the very end when Luca's dog mom dresses him in nightclothes, and he's seen cuddling his own blue bunny!

There's nothing low-maintenance about this pup, and we love it. Viewers and new fans of Luca agreed, with many sharing the sentiment that this is "one lucky dog." Others asked for details on the specific bedtime routine products being used for Luca. It seems like many pet parents are interested in having pampered dogs who get treated like true royalty, too.

Do dogs need a bedtime routine?

Every dog is different. So, while Luca loves a 5-step bedtime routine with all the fixings, your fido may appreciate something simpler. However, are there certain things every dog parent should do before bed? Short answer, sure! For one, it's important to know that dogs typically thrive on some sort of consistency in routine, as it helps reinforce positive behaviors and stave off negative ones.

Sleep schedules and bedtime routines, specifically, are a great way to stay on top of grooming, and even stop a dog from waking you up too early. Now, the details of that routine will require knowing your pet. For example, some anxious or hyper pups may need a nighttime routine focused on winding down that might involve a bit of playtime with their favorite toy, or a final walk. Others, though, may be a bit fancy like Luca, and interested in a mini-spa session.

These nighttime spa routines can also be useful to dog breeds whose fur does require a lot of maintenance, like huskies. They're frequent shedders–especially in the summer — and benefit from regular brushing. Now for the extra cute part: routines are one of the best ways to really bond with your dog, and have even been proven to help lower dog anxiety over time. So, if you're not already on a routine, these dogs wearing onesies might inspire a new, adorable bedtime ritual for you and your pup.
