Fluffy Ragdoll Cat Has Her Own Girly Bedroom And It's The Definition Of Goals
Every child dreams of having their own spacious bedroom filled with fun toys and decor. One fur baby named Meredith is the proud owner of just such a purr-fectly luxurious room. In an amusing TikTok video that's been viewed more than 21 million times and liked over 3.7 million times, the 6-year-old ragdoll cat looks supremely chill in her sprawling space that features a comfy cat bed, a fluffy rug, a teeny bedside table, multiple small chairs, a tiny couch, a small fake fireplace, a climbing tower, and more. Hanging above a little piano β which is actually a kibble dispenser β are framed degrees from Purrinceton University awarded to Meredith Mae.

Viewers of the video were tickled pink by Meredith's lavish lifestyle. "My cat sent this to me," one joked, while another quipped, "I'm so glad I deleted TikTok on my cat's phone." Several netizens posted a variation of, "I told my cat this is AI." Some viewers lamented that their personal lifestyles could never match Meredith's. "The cat room is much nicer than my own room," one person commented, to which another responded, "SAME πΈ ...I want to be Mae Mae when I grow up."
In a video on YouTube, Meredith's owner, Emily, told The Dodo that the room started as a way for the cat to get a break from Emily's Pomeranian dogs. After Emily was in an accident and couldn't drive for several months, she started decorating the space for Meredith as a fun crafting project.
Where did ragdoll cats come from?
It's perhaps no surprise that Meredith is a ragdoll cat. Owners of these gorgeous floofs tend to be utterly devoted to them. The felines are one of the cat breeds that live the longest, and also one of the best cat breeds for apartments. One viewer commented on the TikTok video, "As someone who is also 'owned' by a Ragdoll...they really do demand nothing but the best." But the origins of these friendly, dog-like felines may surprise you.
In the 1960s, a cat breeder in California named Ann Baker became interested in a white feral domestic longhaired cat named Josephine. After Josephine was hit by a car, treated for her injuries, and nursed back to health by Baker's neighbors, Josephine gave birth to a litter of kittens that were extremely calm and docile. Somehow, Baker concluded that Josephine's genes had been altered during the cat's medical treatment, and Baker decided to create more of these endearingly floppy felines. She later made outlandish claims such as that aliens and the CIA were also involved in creating ragdolls. Whatever the origins of the breed may be, there's no denying how often these fluffy cats inspire devotion from their owners β even to the point of setting up a feline paradise in the form of an over-the-top cat bedroom.
