Cat Ends Up With A 'Face Full Of Regret' After Bathtub Bubble Curiosity Gets The Best Of Him

Cats are such inquisitive creatures that they sometimes get into trouble because of their curiosity. Take, for example, Enzo the cat. In a funny video that's been watched more than 5.7 million times and racked up over 822,000 likes on TikTok, Enzo is perched beside the bathtub while his owner is luxuriating in a bubble bath. Enzo's owner holds up a handful of bubbles, and the curious cat delicately paws at them, then flicks them away.

However, some of the bubbles land in Enzo's fur. When he looks over at the bubbles, they transfer to his whiskers. He paws at them again to get them off his whiskers, but instead, the bubbles transfer to his whiskers on the other side. The expression on his face is absolutely priceless.

Viewers were highly entertained by the cat's antics. "The look of absolute disgust 😂," one wrote, while another commented, "Face full of regret right there 😂😂😂." One netizen imagined the cat's thought process: "AH it's on my shoulder, AH it's on my whiskers, AH it's on my other whiskers...😂😂😂" Another assumed the cat must be thinking, "Get this thing off meee.😹"

The truth about cats and water

If you've ever watched a cat playing near a bathtub like Enzo does or splashing around in a bathroom sink, you've no doubt wondered if all cats really do hate water or if this is just one of those common cat myths that should be debunked. Most cats dislike being wet because their fur can take a long time to dry, plus water washes away a cat's own natural scents. Scientists theorize that because domestic cats' ancestors evolved in deserts, they never became swimmers or developed an affinity for water.

However, some cats do like playing in water, especially Bengals, Turkish Vans, and Savannahs. In addition, one of the common Maine coon cat breed characteristics is a fondness for water, and many of these big, lovable cats enjoy swimming, splashing in a water dish, or hopping into a running shower. Of course, any cat who gets regular baths as a kitten may grow up to enjoy water.
