When attempting to rescue a scared stray dog, patience is the key, as a truck driver named Mark found out firsthand. In a heartwarming TikTok video that's been viewed more than 3.6 million times and racked up over 761,000 likes, Mark tried for two months to befriend the skinny, dirty dog who appeared every morning in his truck yard. Mark greeted the dog with a cheery "Good morning!" every day and fed the hungry animal.

Day after day, week after week, Mark kept encouraging the timid dog to come inside. At one point, he vowed, "I'll take you home. You'll have a good life. I promise. You'll sleep in a nice warm bed." The video then cuts to a montage of the happy-looking dog — now named Diesel — living with Mark and getting tummy scritches, playing, lounging on the couch, riding in a shopping cart at a store, and cuddling with his new owner. Bringing Diesel home to his new life
Mark explained in a later video that it took four people to trap the frightened dog so Mark could bring him home. At first, Diesel was wild and destructive, making Mark think that the dog had likely never been indoors before. Now, Diesel is happy in his new home, and he's even potty trained. Mark seems to have found his soul pet. One viewer wrote, "They're literally the cutest best friend soul mates of all time ♥️."
