Pint-Sized Piglet's 'Spunky And Feisty' Personality Makes Everyone She Meets Fall In Love
It's not at all uncommon for a person to meet a tiny puppy or kitten and instantly fall in love. Less common is falling head over heels for a petite piglet, though that's exactly what happened after a pig named Posey jumped out of a truck and was then rescued and brought to the Farm To Able animal sanctuary in Blue Springs, Missouri. "Our local vet did not have any real hope for her," someone from the sanctuary told Cuddle Buddies in a video that's been viewed more than 23,000 times on YouTube. But the adorable oinker — who initially had to wear a brace on one leg — seemed determined to survive and thrive. "She is spunky and feisty."
Posey was so small and cute that she was allowed in the house at first. As the sweet little swine grew in size, her personality grew, too. Eventually, Posey became so healthy, large, and active that she had to move in with the other pigs at the sanctuary. But, according to the video's voiceover, "she still acts more like a spoiled little human baby."
Viewers were instantly enamored with the precious piglet. "Posey is adorable! ❤ wonderful she was saved," one commented, and another gushed, "She's just so beautiful and smart ...and absolutely full of love 💕....bless you Posey."
How smart are pigs?
In addition to being cute, pigs are some of the pets with the longest lifespans. They're also incredibly intelligent. Pigs are highly trainable and can learn quickly. They can be taught to use tools, solve puzzles, play video games, perform tricks, and recognize their own names spoken aloud. Pigs also understand abstract concepts and enjoy creative play.
Several viewers of the YouTube video thanked the sanctuary's staff for rescuing Posey the pig, an animal all too often maligned and vilified. "People like this are very special. I salute them," one netizen wrote, and another commented, "Glad to see people out there caring for and helping animals❤." Someone from the sanctuary stated at the end of the video, "All we saw was this tiny injured piglet who survived despite the odds and somehow still grew up believing she runs the world. But it's bitter because there are hundreds of thousands of pigs just like Posey that don't get their second chance at life."
