Black Lab Gets Treated To 'Newborn Puppy Shoot' And The Results Are So Sweet

It's almost impossible to imagine anything cuter than a 7-week-old black Labrador puppy — unless it's that same little puppy being swaddled like a newborn baby and photographed with teeny-tiny stuffed animals, wearing a sleeping cap, or wrapped up in a giant bow.

Pet photographer Stephanie Blum and baby photographer Lauren Kara Majors teamed up for the most endearing photoshoot ever, featuring a sweet floof named Timmy, who will undergo training with The Seeing Eye to become a guide dog for a blind person. The resulting post on Instagram features seven over-the-top adorable photos of Timmy. Majors recalled in the caption, "I've always wanted to do a newborn puppy shoot. The idea had been lingering in the back of my mind for years."

Netizens were utterly enamored with the precious pooch, leaving comments such as "I can't deal with so much cuteness 😍😍🐾🐾🐾🥰" and "I'm pretty sure you just broke the internet with these photos 😍." One person gushed, "What an absolutely precious bundle of fluff ♥️♥️♥️," and another wrote, "My gosh the little toe beans!! I want to eat them up!!! Such a cute idea!!"

How to photograph a puppy like a pro

This totally adorbs photoshoot took much careful prep work. In the Instagram post's caption, Majors emphasized how gently she handled Timmy: "I carefully wrapped and posed him throughout the shoot using the same gentle techniques, styling, and attention to detail that I use during my newborn sessions." She also revealed how the little pup remained so sleepy throughout: "Right before the session, Stephanie fed him and played with him so he was calm and ready to settle."

If you're trying to snap a great photo of your own dog being too cute, the most important step is to tire out your dog first, with a long walk and a play session. Get down at your dog's level — perhaps by lying on the floor yourself, or by lifting the animal onto a bed or couch — then focus on your pooch's peepers. To encourage your dog to look in the right direction, have an assistant ready behind you with a high-value treat or a favorite toy. Then, be sure to take oodles of shots. Be patient, keep the photoshoot short, and know that it might take a few sessions to get the perfect puppy photo. One netizen who saw the cute shots of Timmy wrote, "I need a new puppy so we can do this 🥹."
