As the TikTok creator noted, Apollo's a "friendly boy," and talented, too! In this seven-second clip, he's seen standing on his hind legs waving to passersby with what seems to be a big 'ole smile across his face. He's able to wave several times before landing on all four paws, which is apparently just enough time for thousands of new Apollo fans to fall in love.

Perhaps most fascinating to Apollo's new fans was his size. "I never seen a corgi in XL," said one viewer. Another joked that they didn't know "they made king sized corgis." They were likely speaking to the fact that this corgi-malamute mix, though visually resembling a corgi, is much, much larger than the typically small breed.

What is a corgi-malamute like?

There really are some mind-blowing crossbreed dogs who prove mutts are the ultimate cute, just like Apollo. One viewer said in the comments, "A corgi-malamute is crazy work." Other than looking like a larger-than-average corgi, what might this mix be like? We've seen 26 corgi mixes that come in adorably small packages, so now let's give this bigger corgi-mix some love.

Pembroke Welsh corgis are known for their tiny little legs and silly little butts. Alaskan malamutes, on the other hand, have quite long legs and can get up to 85 pounds (to a corgi's 30 pounds). Malamutes were bred for arctic sledding and carrying heavy loads in harsh conditions, so they're known for being especially strong. That's not to say corgis can't be strong, too. These dogs are small but mighty, known for being fairly athletic and durable herding dogs. So, you can likely expect a corgi-malamute mix to be pretty strong, as well.

Personality-wise, both these breeds are quite loyal and affectionate, though also a bit stubborn. Though they look pretty different at first glance, both share a double coat — so expect a fair amount of grooming and frequent shedding. While it may be slightly easier to tell what a purebred dog might be like than a mixed breed, the fact is, every dog is different. In fact, the excitement of discovering your mixed canine's personality is one of the rewarding reasons to adopt a mixed-breed dog, after all.
