Dachshund Sits In The Cart Like A Polite Little Lady While Grocery Shopping With Mom

Leaving our pets behind when we travel can be tough for us, and them! Plus, who knows what your pets are secretly doing at home while you're away. That's why it's always great when our fur babies get to tag along. Even better is when these cuties are well behaved, like in this super cute (and viral!) TikTok. Seriously, a grocery run with mom and pup is all the proof we need that this dachshund really is one polite little lady.

No better feeling than getting your life together after traveling 😩🙌 starting off the week right (lmk if you want me to share butternut squash soup recipe it came out SO good)

"Such a gorgeous day in the city," said the TikToker, while walking her adorable dachshund, Lady. This pup seems to agree, as she happily joins her mom for errand day. First, the two stop for the mom's prescriptions. Then, what's possibly this dachshund's favorite part: a grocery run!

Her dog mom secures her in the grocery cart, equipped with a blanket. Plus, she's already wearing a snuggly jacket. She sits ever-so-politely while her mom picks out ingredients for butternut squash soup. When the two get home, this dachshund sweetly helps put the groceries away. And by "help," we mean she sniffs all the groceries she can get her nose on.

Are big cities good for dogs?

From her power-walks on New York City streets to this dachshund's very chill grocery run, she seems very well-adjusted to big-city life. But is that true for most dogs? Can dogs thrive in the hustle and bustle, or are quieter environments best? Well, when it comes to noisy versus quieter cities for dogs, it really depends on the dog.

A 2020 University of Helsinki study found that urban dogs can, in fact, seem to be more anxious than country, or more rural dogs — likely due to the noisy and over-stimulating nature of busy city life. However, that doesn't mean dogs can't be happy in more urban areas. Canines with the proper training, attention, and exercise can live perfectly satisfying lives in the city. However, there are still some important things to consider for dog parents in big cities.

For one, larger cities may also be some of the most expensive U.S. cities to have a pet. Also, smaller, less active breeds like bulldogs may be some of the best dog breeds for people who live in an apartment or in cities with less space to roam. Professional dog trainer Amber Zawrotny also told Adopt a Pet that though larger, more active breeds like collies can survive the city, "it's exponentially harder to meet their needs." So if you're wondering if your pup can make it in the big city, the answer is truly up to you and your dog!
