Young, healthy cats are able to leap the highest, especially when they're motivated by chasing a prey animal or playing with a favorite human. Most domestic cats can jump up to six times their own height in one leap, which means a typical cat can easily go from standing still to leaping 6 feet in the air. For comparison, if humans could jump as well as cats, a 5-foot-tall person would be able to leap up to 30 feet.
