Orange Maine Coon Completely Soaks Up A Spa Day — And The Groomer Couldn't Even Believe It

It's not every day that an enormous, nervous cat goes to the groomer and ends up acting like a lovebug. That's exactly what happened in a sweet 12-minute video titled "The Most Affectionate Maine Coon I've Ever Groomed," which has been viewed more than 1.6 million times on YouTube. 

A gentle ginger giant named Ollie was a bit smelly and had a few mats, including in his armpits, so his owner sent him to Canadian pet groomer Vanessa De Prophetis. The Maine coon cat seemed hesitant at first, but he quickly warmed up to De Prophetis, who noted, "He is a very affectionate cat, as Maine coons typically are."

Viewers were completely enamored with the fluffball and his good manners. "What a gorgeous little lion!! He's all orange boy cat – lover not fighter ❤," one person wrote, and another commented, "I'm absolutely tickled when I see a video of a massive Maine coon that looks like Ron Perlman but then that angular chiseled face lets out the teeniest little meows. Cracks me up every time."

Ollie behaved himself while being brushed and shaved and having his nails trimmed, especially since De Prophetis gave him several lickable cat treats to keep him occupied. Eventually, she even managed to bathe him without incident, though he looked decidedly displeased when placed inside the pet-dryer box and subjected to full-body blow-drying. Afterward, when she gave him a final brushing, he was extremely affectionate toward her, doing cute little headbutts. De Prophetis observed, "You're being very aggressive about your need for pets."

"What an incredibly handsome pumpkin he is – and so calm about the bath. Such a lovely gentleman!" wrote one person, while another commented, "I love how he's very fluffy, but he doesn't shrink all that much when he gets wet. There really is just a giant cat under all the floof." Yet another netizen quipped, "Dr. Ollie Headbutt. PhD in cuteness and floof. 😻"
