Tiny Brown Shih-Tzu Demands A Hand And Foot Massage Like The Queen She Is
The origins of Shih Tzu dogs can be traced back to the time of Chinese emperors more than a millennium ago, and to this day, many of these precious puppers never let their owners forget this royal lineage. Take, for example, a pampered princess named Bug. In a TikTok video that's been viewed more than 2 million times, the chocolate-colored doggo sits up on the couch while her adoring owner/servant massages her feet (rear paws). At one point, Bug stretches out her hands (front paws) and yawns, and her human obliges by switching the focus of the massage. Text overlaid on the video reads, "I thought my dog wanted a foot massage... but she wants her hands massaged too."

Viewers of the video seemed united in their belief that Bug should get whatever she wanted. "Spoiled like that sweetie pie should be 🥹," wrote one, and another noted, "Omg, she's a sophisticated little lady. I hope you continue to treat her like the noble woman she is 🥰." One netizen offered this helpful suggestion to maximize Bug's mollycoddling: "This is clearly a two person job, so that all paws can be taken care of at the same time."
Other adorable videos shared on the TikTok account show Bug asking politely for yogurt, cosplaying as an Ewok in the forest, and trying (and failing repeatedly) to correctly identify which hand holds a hidden treat.

Descended from Tibetan breeding stock, the Shih Tzu dog likely developed as a cross between the Lhasa Apso and the Pekingese. Lions are deeply revered in Buddhism, and the dog breed's name means "lion dog" in Mandarin. Shih Tzus lived in the palaces of Chinese emperors for centuries, but they were killed off after the Communist revolution in 1949 because they symbolized wealth and excess. Today's Shih Tzus are all descended from a handful of dogs brought back to England and several Scandinavian countries between 1928 and 1952.
The average size of a Shih Tzu is 9 to 16 pounds, and these charming toy dogs usually stand 8 to 11 inches tall. They make great lap dogs, content to spend their days cuddling, napping, and providing companionship — or, like Bug, being waited on hand and foot. "Tiny lion princess being PROPERLY attended!!! 🥰" one person joked, and another quipped, "Your Ewok is quite spoiled."
