Most of us can use an extra bit of tenderness and attention at times, and that includes our pets. It's not uncommon to see dogs with their emotional support stuffies, but have you ever seen a dog with an emotional support Pom-Pom?

In a sweet TikTok video from March 2026 captioned "We all need an emotional support Pomeranian" — which has been watched more than 2 million times and accumulated over 379,000 likes — Adalind the Pomeranian reaches out a loving paw whenever Freya the husky feels sad or under the weather. The precious pair are shown cuddling, waiting for a delivery to arrive, wearing matching dinosaur costumes, getting into trouble together, and trying to collect the "cheese tax," and in each instance, Adalind inevitably rests a paw on Freya.

Naturally, viewers were instantly smitten with the fuzzy duo. "The most adorable fur babies ever," commented one, and another noted, "Huskies and Pomeranians. The perfect combo." One netizen even observed, "The way the pompom always holds the husky's paw as if saying 'Yes, I love her. She's my best friend and we will always be together.'"

Do dogs notice the emotions of other dogs and humans?

Most dog owners can share anecdotes about their pets detecting and responding to negative emotions such as sadness, loneliness, fear, and anxiety, and science can back up this widespread belief. A 2017 study on dog empathy that was published in the journal Animal Cognition analyzed how dogs acted after being exposed to positive, negative, and neutral sounds emitted by humans and other dogs. The researchers concluded that dogs noticed and reacted to emotions in both people and dogs, in particular negative emotions, as represented in the study by humans crying and dogs whining.

Perhaps little Adalind is helping her big sister Freya more than anyone realizes — and maybe we could benefit from a sweet companion, too. As one viewer of the TikTok video wrote, "I need [an] emotional support Pomeranian." Now, do you want to see more darling doggos who sometimes require an extra little boost emotionally?
