Havanese Brothers Trying To Cross 'Invisible Force Field' Is Downright Hilarious

Everyone occasionally faces external inconveniences that disrupt their routine, whether it's roadwork clogging your morning route or a slow-moving crowd blocking the sidewalk. Finn and Frehley, however, faced a much stranger situation. A viral TikTok shows the Havanese pups trying to enter a room, only to be stopped by a long strip of clear tape stretched across the doorway. There's enough space to crawl under the tape or hop over it, but it may as well be emitting an invisible canine force field. The dogs just can't figure out how to defeat this tricky new obstacle.

Finn makes the first charge and tries to barrel through the tape. However, he grows so nervous he reverses course and scoots backward at the last second. Frehley's up to bat next, but he's just as confused as his brother. The furry duo moves on to barking, pawing at the tape, and sniffing the air. They even seem to consult with each other.

"These two are such a hoot 🤣," a fan wrote in the comments. The dogs' owner explained that the tape is an enrichment tool meant to teach problem-solving skills. Finn and Frehley finally dove under the tape after someone sprinkled treats on the other side.

Why dogs need environmental enrichment

Dogs evolved from ancient wolves, creatures that thrived on the dangers and the thrills of hunting, scavenging, playing, or fighting. The lovable goofball wagging its tail in your yard still has many of those urges. Dogs need regular mental and physical stimulation to stay content. Luckily, it's not hard to temporarily stump your pup. Smearing peanut butter on canine enrichment toys like a lick mat is enough to keep them occupied for up to half an hour. A lick mat is essentially a silicone treat plate covered in grooves that make it harder for your dog to get the treat.

Store-bought options are numerous, but you can easily make your own dog enrichment toys, too. Think about what your dog likes. Building A DIY doggy obstacle course is perfect if it's bored by treats. A food-based dog might love a scent walk where you hide treats in increasingly difficult spots for it to find. Use high-value treats to keep them motivated. Whatever makes your dog's brain tick is sure to keep them happy, too.
