How to Remove Brown Stains Around Dog's Mouth

Any pet owner knows that keeping your animal's fur clean can be a chore. One problem that dogs are prone to, particularly those with light fur, is the brown discoloration that can form around the dog's mouth. Although this is a natural occurrence, it is unsightly. By staying on top of grooming, however, you can remove your dog's stained fur and prevent the problem from coming back.

Step 1

Run the washcloth under warm tap water.

Wring it out so that it is damp but not soaked.

Gently wipe the areas of your dog's mouth that are brown with the damp rag.

Repeat this process once a day until the stains disappear.

Take your pet in for a grooming, or groom it yourself. Trimming the hair will remove stained fur and allow clean fur to grow in.
