If you have a fish aquarium at home, it is essential to install a filter to keep the water nice and clean, as well as keep your pet fishes healthy and happy. Setting up an aquarium filter is simple and easy, whether you buy it new or you are setting up an existing one you just washed. Follow these steps:
Set up the filter parts so you can put them together properly.
Grab the holding tank in one hand and attach the inflow tube into the tank's interior. Make sure it is set into the right place. (See picture on the left)
Attach the J-tube firmly into the inflow tube. (See picture on the left)
Attach the tubing with the cap into the bottom of the J-tube. (See picture on the left)
Insert the smaller filter (the washable one) into the holding tank next to the tubing. (See picture on the left)
Insert the filter cartridge into the back of the holding tank. (See picture on the left)
Fill the holding tank with cold water up to three-fourths full. (See picture on the left)
Attach the filter holding tank at the back side of the aquarium. Fill the holding tank with water until water starts spilling into the aquarium tank. Plug in the cord of the aquarium filter into an electrical outlet to start it running. Put the cover on top of the holding tank.
