- Throughout her long writing and editing career, Sheri has interviewed a pet psychic; a man who lives with 99 Chihuahuas; the founder of a dog sanctuary in Thailand; end-of-life pet doulas; owners of adventure cats; scientists working to create a hypoallergenic cat; and other people obsessed with adorably furry creatures.
- Her household in Vancouver, Canada is ruled by the whims of a large and opinionated Norwegian Forest Cat.
- In addition to her work as a journalist, she writes extremely silly stories for children, including the picture book It's Following Me! — the tale of a cat who can't figure out what the mysterious thing is that follows her wherever she goes — and the short story Purry Mason, Feline Detective, published in Chickadee magazine.

Over the years, Sheri has written for outlets such as Modern Cat, Modern Dog, Mental Floss, Daily Hive, Montecristo, Northern Soul, The Globe and Mail, The Vancouver Sun, and Earth Island Journal.
