• Whole boneless, skinless chicken breast
• 1/4 cup finely diced raw carrot
• 1/4 cup finely diced raw zucchini with peel
• 1/2 cup sweet potato or yam
• 400 IU vitamin E
• 1 tsp. olive oil
• 1 tbsp. raw, organic apple cider vinegar
• 1 tbsp. dried parsley
• 1 tbsp. dried oregano
• 1 tbsp. dried rosemary
• 4 cups water
• 1/2 cup oat bran
1 - Rinse the chicken in cold water, pat dry with a paper towel and slice the breast in half. Finely dice the carrot and zucchini. Cube the sweet potato. Combine the water, chicken breast halves, carrot, zucchini, sweet potato, parsley, rosemary, oregano, and apple cider vinegar in the saucepan and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat to simmer and cover the pot. Cook for about 1 hour, stirring occasionally.
2 - Remove the chicken from the pot to a cutting board or plate, and let cool. Whisk the oat bran into the hot broth mixture. Cook for about 1 minute until the mixture thickens a little, then remove from the heat. Chop the chicken into small pieces, then puree the chicken in a food processor or blender.
3 - Pour the broth, veggies and herbs into the food processor or blender with the chicken, then puree again. Pour the gravy into an airtight container. Splash on commercial kibble, or use it to enhance homemade dog foods. Store the gravy in the refrigerator for up to three days. Freeze individual portions for up to two months.
