Cute Cats Who Look Just Like Vampires With Their Fangs

If you've ever been bitten by a cat, you know all too well that they have some pretty sharp teeth. Perhaps you even have the scars to prove it from a play session that didn't quite go as planned. These animals have been domesticated for thousands of years, but they're still predators with teeth that can kill. As predators, they're born with long, sharp, and pointed canines — also known as fangs — for tearing into their prey in the wild or kibble in their homes.

Cats have two fangs on their upper jaw and another set on the lower, all of which are typically hidden unless they open their mouths. However, some felines have unusually elongated fangs that can be seen even with their mouths closed. These give them a striking, vampire-like appearance. Proud owners of these "Dracula kitties" have embraced the charming trait, taking to social media to show off their fang-tastic feline friends. Here are some of the best cat photos that are guaranteed to make your day funnier.

From stray to vampire: Monkey the fang-toothed cat

This photo definitely screams "I vant to suck your blood," but despite his vampire-like appearance, Monkey is just a normal cat. His owner, Nicole, met him as a tiny kitten in 2015 when he ran in front of her car. She decided to keep him, describing him as "a guardian angel in the form of a vampire kitty" (via HuffPost). About a year later, the long fangs became more apparent. Now 15 years old, Monkey still proudly flaunts them on Instagram (yes, he has his own Insta) to his 248,000 fans.

If the sun were a cat, it would be Helios

Helios reigns as the god of the sun in Greek mythology, but it's also the name of this 7-year-old orange tabby. He's pictured here with his favorite toy, Foxington, his constant companion. His owner, Preston, says, "He can be quite fiery in true orange-cat fashion." The long canines add to his photogenic charm, and as you can tell, he loves the camera. Helios only reveals his long pearly whites in certain poses, so Preston was lucky to capture this shot.

Loki, the grumpy cat with long fangs

Why do so many cats look like they've just been rudely woken up from the nap all day long, creating some of the funniest cat photos that every owner needs to see? It's a common trait among these pets, but Loki took the signature feline stink face to another level without even trying. With more than 440,000 followers on Instagram, she became quite the social-media celebrity thanks to her iconic scowl, curved whiskers, and lengthy upper canines. Sadly, Loki crossed the rainbow bridge in 2020, but her human, Kaetlyn, keeps her page active with plenty of throwbacks of those beloved vampire teeth.

Mamba, the original vampire cat

He's certainly not the first cat to have extra long teeth, but Mamba is known as "the original vampire cat" and "NosferPAWtu" on Facebook and Instagram. His owner describes him as "a handsome Transylvanian polydactyl male shelter rescue" and "a romantic with an overbite."

Living up to his appearance, Mamba enjoys sleeping in containers like a true vampire, but without any coffins around, he settles for cardboard boxes (per CatCon). He was adopted in 2014 at an adoption event, but his current status is unknown; his most recent social-media posts date back to 2020.

Pixel, the vampire cat with a sparkling smile

She has the same long canines like all the cats above, but Pixel wins the award for having the most peculiar appearance. She's a Cornish rex, a breed known for having a curly coat and an unusual head and ear shape. Adding to her unique appearance is her gray coat against her black facial fur, which creates the illusion that she's sporting a cute, fluffy coat. With more than 522,000 fans on Instagram, Pixel has been delighting viewers with her adorable toothy grin for years. It's hard not to smile back at her.
