Great Danes Bossed Around By Their Kitten Sibling Is Nothing Short Of Hilarious

Anyone who's ever lived with both a cat and a dog knows that the cat inevitably ends up in charge of the household, no matter how large or intimidating the dog may seem at first. That's certainly the case in a video shared on YouTube, where a white cat named Lincoln hilariously bosses around four great Danes. "He owned the pack from the very first minute," says Lincoln's amused owner in the video's voiceover. "He would eat from their bowl. He would take their spot on the bed."

Of course, dogs bonding with cats isn't rare, but what makes the relationships in the video a bit unusual is the fact that one of the four great Danes, Lucy, is both blind and deaf. "I think Lincoln uses that to his advantage," says the owner in the video. "He will bait her, and then of course hide from her. He'll hide in his cat tunnels. He'll hide in boxes. He's always jumping out to surprise her." Just like young human siblings, these pet siblings take great delight in teasing, chasing, and playfighting with each other. In the video, the five animals are also shown enjoying a walk on the beach together — with the cat leading the way, of course.

Comments on the YouTube video showered praise on great Danes in general. "Gentle giants, they instinctively know to not hurt the much more fragile kitty," commenter TOM-C shared. Great Danes are both the world's tallest dogs — maxing out at 32 inches tall and a weight of 175 pounds — and loving, gentle, social creatures that are good with children. Great Danes are known for being smart, and they're also one of the most popular dog breeds in the U.S. They're beloved by many people, despite being prone to several skin problems and other health issues. 

The mischievous and domineering nature of cats was also noted frequently in the comments section. It's not uncommon, but it's still always hilarious for cats to completely rule the dogs in their lives. Many other commenters mentioned how heartwarming and inspiring it was to see cats and dogs who love each other, calling what Lincoln and the great Danes share a beautiful friendship and a wonderful example for humans to follow. Toward the end of the YouTube video, Lincoln's owner offers a similar sentiment: "Having them around and loving each other keeps my home on a really positive level. They make each other better."
