Woman Rescues Lost Dog From Gas Station And They Were Destined To Be Together
Every day, thousands of lost pets get reunited with their owners. These reunion stories typically have a happy ending, but that's not quite what happened to a dog found by a woman named Brianna on April 2, 2022. The Dodo shared the remarkable story on YouTube in October 2025. While on a birthday road trip with her husband to Savannah, Georgia, she spotted a large black-and-white dog in the parking lot of a Shell gas station...and fell in love. She eventually found his owner, but destiny changed the course of his life and hers in a way no one could have predicted.
After learning that he'd been wandering around the lot since 7 a.m. that day, she drove him to the nearest vet. The dog didn't have a microchip, so she took him to the hotel where she was staying. Brianna posted about him on TikTok that night, suspecting he belonged to someone. The following morning, no one had claimed him yet, so she took him along on the boat ride she had planned. Surprisingly, he was well-behaved. "It was just magical," she said, but upon returning to her car, she learned that his owner saw her post and messaged her about the dog. She also learned that his name was Blu and arranged to take him home.
The reunion no one expected
On April 4, 2022, she returned Blu to his loving family. "I know I should be happy...but I love him," she said in a TikTok video while on her way to drop him off. "They raised the most amazing pup and I am so thankful to have met and loved him for the weekend," the caption read. After the reunion, she returned home and spent part of her birthday in tears, missing him, but four days later, she got an unexpected call.
His owner said Blu had been running away again, returning to the same Shell where she found him. Although he and his family were happy to have him back, Blu's safety became their biggest concern. So he asked if she wanted to keep him, remembering how they'd bonded so closely. Brianna already had three dogs of her own, so she was hesitant about how they would get along with Blu. "I don't know. I'm kinda freaking out...but obviously, I would love to have him," she said in an April 8 TikTok clip.
She agreed to keep him, so the owner dropped him off. Later that day, she shared another update that shows Blu getting along with her canine trio. "Blu is settling right in, and our hearts couldn't be more full!" her April 9 TikTok caption read. In the days that followed, Brianna gave him his first pup cup, got him microchipped, and, of course, gave him plenty of love. She also later changed his name to Snoopy.
Snoopy and Brianna's new life together
Since joining his new family in 2022, Snoopy has been enjoying toys, swimming at the beach, and hiking with his mom. Brianna also had him trained to be her service dog, so she started taking him to work with her and almost everywhere else she goes. He even started visiting her coworker's office to get some extra belly rubs. In the caption of a TikTok clip from January 2023, Brianna listed Snoopy as her soul dog. No surprise there.
The most recent TikTok post about Snoopy dates back to January 11, 2025, when several southern U.S. states were hit with a storm that brought several inches of ice and snow. As many other dog owners did who don't usually see snow, Brianna documented Snoopy playing in the fluffy white stuff for the first time. Other social media posts reveal that Brianna had a baby in 2024, so her new addition has likely kept her too busy to provide more Snoopy updates. We can only hope he's still part of her life, bringing her joy the way he did that first weekend in Savannah.
